A Joyous First Chapter

We couldn’t be more pleased with how the inaugural SocialFuse Festival unfolded.

As with any great journey, it all begins with a single step—and this first step into what we hope will become a cornerstone of Derbyshire’s social economy calendar was nothing short of inspiring. The week served as a powerful learning experience for us at Kakou and has only strengthened our belief in the bright future of SocialFuse.

From our lively ‘In Conversation With…’ panel that sparked rich and thought-provoking dialogue, to the wildly popular ‘Sign Singing for Fun’ workshops led by Rebecca Anne-Withey—beloved by deaf and hearing participants alike—the festival offered something for everyone.

We were also proud to feature the powerful and reflective Last Photo Exhibition, which brought an emotive and thought-provoking close to the week’s events.

After so much planning and anticipation, it flew by in a flash… but the energy and momentum are still with us.
